Like Yasmin Mogahed, I think the problem with me is that I have such a strong attachement to people around me.
I gave my all, and when people start to leave me, the disappointment was too huge for me to handle and it takes a looooooong time for me to recover from the loss.
Like her, I am a senstive person since young. Separation has always been a problem for me.
Separating from mom when she needed to go work. Separating from a good friend whom I love dearly.
I guess the issue really lies with me.
I have put others as the main priorities when the right thing to do is to put ALLAH swt as the main priority.
From the videos, I learnt:
1. Dunya is not permanent. We are again, here on borrowed time.
2. Be nice to people, even if they hurt you BUT dont expect them to reward you. Our ultimate reward is from Allah swt.
3. When we have heartbreaks, don't just focus on the hurt. Believe that something good ..something big will happen for every setbacks.
4. I need to learn to detach from dunya. I need to learn to detach being close with other and detach from my own emotions.
5. Life is not perfect in dunya. Dunya is not Jannah. NEVER ever expect others to be perfect for my life is perfect. Don't expect people to meet my every needs. Don't depend on PEOPLE to save me when I have setbacks. Look for Allah swt.
May Allah swt be with us every step that we take,
May Allah guide us with each decision we make,
May Allah help us when life gets rough,
May Allah lift us when we’ve had enough,
May Allah protect us when we fall,
May Allah hear us when we call,
May all our duas be accepted,
May we always be in Allah swt’s loving hands.
